Bengaluru, July 15, 2025 – The Karnataka government is set to introduce the Karnataka Rohith Vemula (Prevention of Exclusion or Injustice) (Right to Education and Dignity) Bill, 2025, a landmark legislation aimed at safeguarding the rights of students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and minority communities in higher education institutions across the state. This move, spurred by a call from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, seeks to address caste-based discrimination and ensure equal access to education and dignity for marginalized students.
