#Akhanda2 Now Streaming on Netflix: Dive into the Divine Mass Power of Nandamuri Balakrishna!

Mass fans, gear up! Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, the high-voltage sequel starring the legendary Nandamuri Balakrishna (aka Balayya Babu), is officially live on Netflix India as of January 9, 2026. Following its theatrical release on December 12, 2025, this fantasy action thriller brings back the unstoppable divine warrior in full roar, blending spirituality, patriotism, explosive action, and larger-than-life spectacle.

Netflix India dropped the exciting announcement on social media with fiery posters and the iconic caption: “Why fear, when the legend Balayya is here… Watch Akhanda 2 on Netflix, out 9 January in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam…” Another teaser vibe: “Babu ready babu… start camera.. Action!” — pure goosebumps for Balayya devotees!

Stunning Visuals & Posters

The official posters showcase Balakrishna’s commanding presence as the Aghori avatar of Lord Shiva, wielding the trishul with divine fury. These grand visuals capture the film’s epic scale, from mystical battles to intense border confrontations.

Plot: A Clash of Faith, Science, and National Security

Picking up from the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, the story escalates into a massive national crisis. Sinister forces, backed by external elements, plot a deadly bioweapon attack during the Maha Kumbh Mela to spread chaos across India.

Young scientist Dr. Janani (Harshaali Malhotra, reprising her role as an adult) races to develop a vaccine. But corrupt politicians, including the greedy minister Ajit Thakur and his brother, exploit the situation, putting her life in danger.

Enter Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Aghora (Nandamuri Balakrishna in dual role) — the powerful, supernatural incarnation of Lord Shiva — who returns with god-like strength to shield the innocent, crush evil forces, and battle threats on multiple fronts, including a climactic showdown with the Chinese Army. The film mixes mythology, black magic, sci-fi elements, patriotism, and non-stop action to deliver a message of faith, righteousness, and unbreakable spirit.

Ramprasad Editing by Tammiraju Produced by 14 Reels Plus Entertainment (Raam Achanta, Gopi Achanta, Ishan Saksena)

The film was released in theaters in 3D, 2D, and EPIQ formats, and the OTT version preserves the grand visual experience.

Theatrical Run & Reception

Akhanda 2 faced pre-release delays due to a legal stay from the Madras High Court (cleared after dues settlement). It grossed around ₹94-95 crore net in India (worldwide gross approx. ₹110-123 crore), making it one of Balakrishna’s top earners, though it didn’t match the first film’s massive success.

Reviews were mixed: Fans loved Balakrishna’s thunderous performance, Thaman’s BGM, and the mass elevation scenes, calling it a “paisa vasool entertainer” for core audiences. Critics noted over-the-top style, uneven pacing, and logic gaps — best enjoyed by surrendering to the spectacle rather than overthinking!
