South Stars React to Jana Nayagan Leak Row

South Stars React to Jana Nayagan Leak Row

Chennai, April 11, 2026 — The Tamil film industry is in shock after Jana Nayagan, the much-awaited political action thriller starring Thalapathy Vijay, was leaked online in full HD just days before its expected theatrical release.

Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions on a massive ₹500 crore budget, the film also stars Pooja HegdeBobby Deol, Prakash Raj, and Mamitha Baiju. It has already faced multiple delays due to censor board issues and legal disputes.

Producers Take Strong Legal Action

KVN Productions has issued legal notices to those involved in the leak, launched a forensic investigation, and vowed to take strict criminal action against anyone sharing or downloading the pirated content. In an official statement, the producers warned that “every person involved shall be individually liable for criminal action” and urged fans to immediately delete any leaked material.

Director H. Vinoth also expressed deep pain, noting that “every scene carries someone’s dream” and appealed to fans not to share the leaked footage.

The leak reportedly began with short clips (including the title credits and Vijay’s introduction scene) and quickly escalated to the full film circulating on unauthorized platforms and social media.

South Indian Superstars Show Solid Support

In a rare show of unity, top South Indian stars have strongly condemned the piracy:

  • Rajinikanth called the leak “shocking and painful” and urged film associations to raise their voice collectively against piracy.
  • Suriya described it as “heartbreaking and unfair” and said an entire team’s passion and hard work had been reduced to this.
  • Chiranjeevi expressed deep concern over the incident and backed Vijay and the team.
  • Kamal Haasan slammed it as “not an accident but a result of systemic failure,” pointing to inordinate delays in certification that create space for piracy. He called for faster processes and stricter anti-piracy measures.

Other prominent voices from the industry, including Sivakarthikeyan and A.R. Murugadoss, also joined the chorus, emphasizing that piracy hurts not just the producers but the dreams, sweat, and livelihoods of hundreds of technicians and artists.

Why This Leak Hurts Deeply

Jana Nayagan is being touted as Thalapathy Vijay’s final film before he shifts focus fully to politics. The project carries huge theatrical, satellite, and OTT value. The massive investment and months of hard work by the cast and crew have made the leak particularly painful for everyone involved.

The film has already battled multiple hurdles, including censor board objections and court cases that pushed back its release date several times.

Appeal to Fans

Stars and producers have made a united appeal to fans: Delete the leaked content immediately and support the film only in theatres. They stressed that watching the pirated version undermines the entire team’s effort and affects the future of big-budget Tamil cinema.

Masla Mirror strongly condemns digital piracy and stands with the film fraternity in protecting creative work.
