JioHotstar to Revise Super and Premium Subscription Prices from Jan 28; Introduces Monthly Plans Starting at ₹79

Hyderabad, January 19, 2026: JioHotstar, India’s leading entertainment platform from the JioStar joint venture (Reliance and Disney), has announced a major update to its subscription model. Effective January 28, 2026, new subscribers will see revised pricing for the Super and Premium tiers, along with the introduction of flexible monthly plans across all tiers. Existing subscribers remain unaffected as long as their auto-renewal is active.

The changes come amid surging large-screen (Connected TV) viewership on the platform over the past 11 months since launch, with JioHotstar now boasting over 450 million monthly active users and more than 1 billion downloads on Google Play.

Key highlights of the new structure for new subscribers (from January 28, 2026):

• Mobile Tier (ad-supported, one mobile device only, all content except Hollywood; Hollywood available as ₹49/month add-on):
  • Monthly: ₹79
  • Quarterly: ₹149
  • Annual: ₹499
• Super Tier (ad-supported, up to 2 devices, Full HD 1080p, Hollywood included by default):
  • Monthly: ₹149
  • Quarterly: ₹349
  • Annual: ₹1,099
• Premium Tier (ad-free for entertainment content — ads during live sports/events — up to 4 devices, 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision, all content including Hollywood included):
  • Monthly: ₹299
  • Quarterly: ₹699
  • Annual: ₹2,199

This marks a notable hike for longer-term plans compared to previous structures (e.g., the Premium annual plan was previously around ₹1,499 in some reports). The introduction of monthly options provides more flexibility for users preferring shorter commitments, catering to both mobile-first viewers and families streaming on big screens.

Hollywood content is now bundled into Super and Premium base plans for new users, while Mobile subscribers can opt for it as an affordable add-on to customize their experience.

JioHotstar’s vast library includes blockbuster films, originals, live sports (like IPL and ICC events), reality shows, kids’ content, anime, and international titles across languages and genres.

Existing users on current plans (including those migrated from JioCinema or Disney+ Hotstar) will continue at their existing rates and benefits without changes, provided auto-renewal remains on.
